Dr. Michael Thompson II is the Project Director of our North Central, TX team. He is a mission-driven workforce innovation leader with 15+ years of experience transforming systems and expanding equitable opportunity for youth, families, and underserved communities. He has secured more than $100M in public and private funding, built 300+ employer and education partnerships, and led programs that have placed thousands of individuals into sustainable, high-growth careers. Before joining Career Team, Dr. Thompson served as the Executive Director of Workforce Development for the City of Dallas Workforce Dallas program and previously led national youth impact strategies for Barack Obama’s initiative, The My Brother’s Keeper Alliance. With a true passion for basketball and community impact, Dr. Thompson named his sons Michael, Jordan, and Jalen after some of the game’s greats.
