With over 13 years of experience in education and workforce development, Shellonda started as a middle school teacher and later became a Principal for alternative and charter schools. She began her career in workforce development in 2001, leading WIA Youth programs in Palm Beach, Florida. Over the past decade, she has served as a Regional Director for both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations, overseeing workforce development programs in five states. She emphasizes the importance of seeking feedback and solutions from local teams to address community needs effectively. Shellonda says her primary role and joy lie in being a mother to her two adult daughters, one a kindergarten teacher and the other pursuing graduate studies to become a Physician Assistant while working as an MRI Tech. Supported by her loving partner, she cherishes the journey of life alongside her two beloved Yorkies, who never fail to make her feel cherished and valued every day.
